Edward "Chris" C. Roberts, age 75, of Dover Plains, NY, died Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at his daughter's home in Southbury, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on November 2, 1937, in Bethel, he was the son of the late Edward and the late Clara (Waterbury) Roberts.
Chris was a Korean War veteran serving in the 503rd, 11th Airborne.
He has lived in Dover Plains for 15 years. Previous to that he lived in the Danbury and Bethel areas.
He was a coach operator, retiring after working 30 years at Walters Transit, owned by Greyhound. Recently Chris worked at Coach Tours and with his son in a siding business. He has always enjoyed golfing, playing cards, camping, and bowling. When asked what the greatest impact on his life was, he mentioned, "My family".
Chris is survived by his children Christian (Wendy) Roberts, Le Ann (Thomas) Arsenault, Jeanine (Timothy) Elwell, Brian Slattery and Matthew Slattery; his seven grandchildren Christian, Le Ann, Maia, Leland, Devin, Zachary and Macie and one great-grandchild Owen. He is also survived by his sisters and brother, Lorraine Burke, Dorothy Williams, John Roberts, and Dee Perusse. Chris was survived by his longtime companion Pam Christopher and former wife and longtime friend Connie Roberts.
He was predeceased by his sister Margaret and his brother Carl.
A memorial Mass will be held at St. Peter's Catholic Church, 104 Main Street, Danbury on Saturday, July 6th, 2013 at 11:00am. Cremation has taken place.
