Rowley, Audrey
Audrey Johnson (D'Emilio) Rowley passed away peacefully on Sunday September 8, 2013 at New Milford Hospital surrounded by her family. Audrey was born on November 22, 1924 in Munson, Florida to Ella Johnson. After graduating high school in 1942, she served as a civilian employee for the Armed Services at military bases in Georgia and North Carolina unti1 1943 when she met and married her first husband Rocco D'Emilio. She moved from Florida to Connecticut in 1948 where she lived and worked as an administrative assistant to the First Selectman, Paul E. Martin, then in the administrative offices of New Milford Hospital and finally as a CNA also at New Milford Hospital until her retirement in 1989. She moved back to Florida where she lived for the next sixteen years before moving back to Connecticut to be closer to family. Audrey loved gardening, reading, her beloved kitty "Tiger" and spending time with her friends. She also loved her job as a CNA and continued in this line of work for a short time after moving back to Florida. In addition to her mother she was predeceased by a brother, Cleve Walker and her first husband Rocco "Rocky" D'Emilio. She is survived by two daughters Ann Damarjian of Clinton, CT, Rose Marie Flynn-Goyette and her husband Joseph of Southbury, CT, a step son Rett Rowley and his family of Bath, NH, six grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews and their families. Internment and a memorial service will be at a future date in Florida.
