Barbara Lowe Coles died peacefully in her sleep on 11/22/13 after a long illness.
She is survived by her loving family, her mother Marcie Lowe (Rochester, PA), her husband Ian Coles (Dyersburg, TN), three daughters, Lauren (Los Angeles, CA), Amanda (Naugatuck, CT), Sarah (Seoul, South Korea), and one grandchild, Kenny (Naugatuck, CT).
Barbara earned an undergraduate degree in teaching at Indiana University of PA and a master's degree in journalism at Columbia University in New York City.
She was employed for many years in New York City, working on advertising and promotion at Miller Brody, Random House, and Time Warner.
Barbara relocated with her family to Connecticut in 1992 and worked at the Danbury News Times. She was best known for her work as the food columnist, 'Chef Du Jour'.
After three years of living in Virginia Beach, VA, she moved to Dyersburg, TN in 2006.
As a loving, intelligent, and selfless woman, Barbara will be sorely missed by her family and many friends.
