Obituary for Paul E Stark
Paul Ernest Stark, 92 of Green Mountain, Keyser, passed away September 12, 2013 at the Blue Ridge Hospice in Winchester, VA.
Born June 28, 1921 in Mt Zion, MD, he was the son of the late Emma and Charles Stark. He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Loretta M Stark in January of 2009. Also preceding him in death were three brothers and three sisters.
Paul was a World War II veteran serving in the US Army. He was involved in five major battles during his duty at Normandy, Northern France, Battle of the Bulge, Rhineland and Central Europe. He received a Purple Heart in Belgium in addition to the Distinguished Unit Badge. He was a true US patriot. For many years he worked primarily as one of our beloved WV coal minors. Paul was a member of Victory Post #155 in Westernport, MD and the VFW Queens Pointe Memorial Post #6775 in McCoole, MD.
Paul is survived by one brother, Junior Stark of Titusville, FL. Three sons, Paul "Chip" Stark and wife Jessie of Wellsville, NY, Boyd Stark of Keyser, Tom Stark and wife Debby of Keyser. Five daughters, Linda Didawick (husband Joe, Deceased) of Levels, WV, Olive "Augie" Stanford and husband Alton of Danville, PA, Eva "Kitty" Tasker of Keyser and Goldie "Susie" Eversole and husband Freddy of Keyser, and Dolly Foster and husband Danny of The Villages, FL. Paul is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.
Paul loved to play country music with his family and friends. He will be sadly missed by all that knew him.
A private service was held Sept, 15 at the Burdock/Fredlock Funeral Home in Kitzmiller, MD and final internment was at the Mt. Zion cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to: Blue Ridge Hospice, 333 West Cork Street, Winchester, VA 22601.
