KEYSER - James E. Rhodes, 78, of Martinsburg, W.Va., formerly of Keyser, died Monday, Oct. 21, 2013, at his residence.
Born on Nov. 13, 1934, at Wellsville, N.Y., he was a son of the late Philip D. and Martha Mae (Bartabaugh) Rhodes.
Mr. Rhodes was retired from Pittsburgh Plate Glass with 31 years of service. He also was employed as a security officer with the Hollywood Race Track in Charles Town, WV. A US Army
veteran of the Korean Conflict
, he was a life member of Post # 3522, VFW
, Charles Town, Boyce-Houser Post # 41, American Legion, Keyser, a former member of the Keyser Lions Club and the National Rifle Association. He also was a member of the Fellowship Church of the Brethren in Martinsburg.
Surviving are his wife of nearly 57 years, Juanita M. (Clayton) Rhodes; one daughter, Sandra Kay Hartman of Martinsburg, one granddaughter, Jessica Hartman and a great grandson, Zane Pope.
Friends may call at the Smith Funeral Home, Keyser Chapel, on Thursday, Oct. 24, 2013, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Smith Funeral Home, Keyser Chapel, on Friday, Oct. 25, 2013, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Doug Diamond and Pastor Jerry Eisenhour officiating.
Entombment will be in the Potomac Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, Keyser.
