Byron Edward "Barney" Billmyre Obituary
WINCHESTER, Va. - Byron Edward "Barney" Billmyre, 69, of Winchester, VA, formerly of Keyser, WV, died Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at his home while under the care of Blue Ridge Hospice.
Born on May 26, 1949 at Keyser, WV, he was a son of the late Walter R. and Dorothy Mae (Lewis) Billmyre. He also was preceded in death by a sister, Sally Rotruck.
A 1967 graduate of Keyser High School, "Barney" retired after 42 years of service with ABEX (Federal Mogul) in Winchester. He also was a US Army veteran of the Vietnam War and was a member of the VFW Post in Winchester, Victory Post # 155, American Legion in Westernport, MD and the Terrace Club in Winchester.
Surviving are his companion, Penny Heflin; two daughters, Talitha D. Evans of Keyser and Emma K. Davis, at home; two grandchildren, Kennedy and Jessie Evans of Keyser; Penny's son, Daniel Heflin of Winchester; a brother, Brian E. Billmyre of Keyser; a sister, Margie Roy and husband Fred of Keyser and several nieces and nephews.
At Mr. Billmyre's request, there will be no visitation.
A graveside service will be conducted at the Potomac Memorial Gardens, Keyser, on Friday, June 8, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Randy Shoemaker officiating. All family and friends that are planning on attending the service are asked to assemble at the Smith Funeral Home, Keyser Chapel, on Friday at 1:30 p.m.
Military honors will be accorded.
The Smith Funeral Home, Keyser Chapel, is in charge of the arrangements.
