Lester Carr Jr. Obituary

SCHERR, W.Va. - Lester Carr Jr., age 80, of Scherr, W.Va., passed away on Monday, Sept. 30, 2013, at Grant Memorial Hospital in Petersburg, W.Va., as a result of an automobile accident.
He was in born on April 1, 1933, in Maysville, W.Va., the son of the late Lester Carr Sr. and Nellie (Goldizen) Carr.
On May 15, 1954, Lester married his wife of 59 years, Naomi (Stepp) Carr, who survives in Scherr.
Mr. Carr attended school in Scherr and was a former Grant Co. Commissioner. He retired as Owner and Operator of Les Carr Trucking/Carr Trucking. He enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid hunter. Lester was also a supporter and member of the NRA.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Carr is survived by: Two daughters, Dr. Marsha Carr and husband, Jennings Lambert, of Wilmington, N.C. and Kelly Carr Smail and husband, Mark, of Greensburg, Pa.; two sons, Jeffrey Carr and Partner, Emma Harris of Petersburg, W.Va., and Kevin Carr and Partner, Julie Bodkin of Scherr; two sisters, Lois Berg and husband, Verlin "Peter", of Maysville, W.Va., and Linda Berg and husband, Hetzel "Cub", of Maysville; three brothers, Kenneth Carr and wife, Wanda, of Scherr, Richard Carr and wife, Peggy, of Scherr and Roger Carr and wife, Mary Jane, of Maysville; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Carr is preceded in death by one son, Gary Carr.
Family received friends on Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2013, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at the Chapel of the Basagic Funeral Home in Petersburg.
The Rev. Vivan Watts will officiate funeral services on Thursday, Oct. 3, 2013 at 1 p.m. in the Chapel of the Basagic Funeral Home.
Interment will be at the Maysville Cemetery in Maysville, W.Va.
