Cecil G. Lower Obituary

Cecil G. Lower, 78, of Charles Town and New Creek, W.Va., died Saturday, March 22, 2014, at the Winchester Medical Center, Winchester, Va.
Born on Nov. 28, 1935, in Garrett County, Md., he was a son of the late William Henry and Laura Elizabeth (Devers) Lower. He also was preceded in death by a daughter, Pamela Lower; three sisters, Helen Kitzmiller, Freda Lower and Maryland Delaney; and six brothers, William, Edward, Clinton, Dalton, Lawrence and Franklin Lower.
He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Mr. Lower was retired as a program analyst with over 30 years of service with the United States Department of Agriculture. He also served in the United States Air Force from 1955-63.
Surviving are his wife of 56 years, Nevella M. (Jones) Lower; three daughters, Freda E. Lee and husband Thomas of Charles Town, Nevella L. Mullen and husband Richard of Lovettsville, Va., and Patricia D. Lower of Charles Town; and four grandchildren, Elizabeth and Virginia Lee and Cecily and Morgan Mullen.
Friends may call at the Smith Funeral Home, Keyser Chapel, on Thursday, March 27, 2014, from 5-8 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Smith Funeral Home, Keyser Chapel, on Friday, March 28, 2014, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. James "Sonny" Dodds officiating.
Interment will be in the Davis Cemetery, Antioch, W.Va.
