Viola E. Howard, 81, of Albemarle Avenue, Waynesboro, passed away on Thursday, November 22, 2012, at her residence. She was born on March 20, 1931, in Waynesboro, Virginia to the late Larman C. and Helen (Carter) Howard. She retired from Waynesboro Community Hospital with 41 years of service. She was a member of St. James Baptist Church. Her parents; three brothers, Ernest, Sr., Waddell Sr., and Wayne Howard; three sisters, Ann Virginia Howard, Evelyn Blair, and Peggy Howard, all preceded her in death. Viola is survived by four children, Allen "Joe" Howard Sr. and Becky, Deborah Howard, Helen Donfrancesco, Carol H. Page and Sheldon Sr.; eleven grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; two sisters, Jean Jones and Lucy Woodson; two sisters-in-law, Betty Howard and Vivian Howard; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. A service will be conducted 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 28, 2012, at St. James Baptist Church. Interment will be held at Augusta Memorial Park Cemetery.
