Madeline Hildebrand Obituary

Madeline Linda Hildebrand, 64, of 701 Sherwood Ave., Waynesboro, passed away Monday (May 8, 2006) at Augusta Medical Center in Fishersville.

She was born July 26, 1941, in Rockbridge County, the daughter of the late Homer Edward and Catherine Elizabeth Harlow Benson.

Mrs. Hildebrand was a retired seamstress at Burlington Mills. She was a member of the Women of the Moose No. 1309, Staunton Eagles No. 680 and the Ladies Auxiliary of Disabled American Veterans. She loved the outdoors and her garden.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Olif Junior Johnson; two brothers, Delmer Benson and David Lee Benson; and a nephew, Bruce Campbell.

Survivors include her husband, Robert J. Hildebrand; stepfather, James Ramsey of Fishersville; two brothers, Glenn Harlow of Fishersville and Arthur Benson of Stuarts Draft; and three sisters, Polly Thacker of Fishersville, and Shirley J. Fisher and Mary Mongold, both of Waynesboro.

A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday (May 12, 2006) at Augusta Memorial Park by the Rev. A.T. Underwood. The Women of the Moose will conduct a service at the graveside.

Active pallbearers will be Rocky McLain, Evers Mongold, Dwight Campbell, Lee Lipscomb, Brad Allman and Arvin Helmick.

The family will receive friends from noon-1:30 p.m. Friday (May 12, 2006) at Reynolds Funeral Service of Waynesboro.
