Charles Lyndburgh Stuples Charles Lyndburgh Stuples, 80, of Ohio Street, Waynesboro, died on Tuesday, October 5, 2010, at the Martha Jefferson Hospital.

He was born on October 3, 1930 in Waynesboro, Virginia, the son of James Stuples and Bessie Pannel Stuples.

Growing up on "Tater Hill", he graduated from Waynesboro High School. He joined the United States Navy, and served his country faithfully on the U.S.S. R.K. Huntington from 1950 until 1955.

Mr. Stuples' career took him from Westinghouse to Sears, and finally to his own business, Charlie's Seamless Gutters.

He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and loved talking with anyone he met.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Grover and Jimmy Stuples; four sisters, Mary Mize, Gracie Snead, Emma Coffey, and Martha Warren; and a son-in-law, the Reverend Billy Sprouse.

Left to cherish his memories are his loving wife of 54 years, Clara Grace Stuples; his children and their families, Debbie and Roger Carter and their children, Jennifer Benson and her husband, Curtis, Adreana Sprouse, Charles Glenn Sprouse and his wife, Susan; Larry Wayne and Kathy Stuples, their children, Dustin and Cory Stuples, and Kelly Harlow and his wife, Amanda; Paula and Roy Robinson and their children, Lucas and Viktoria Robinson; Charles Lee "Chuckie" Stuples and his children, Cody S. and Dustin J.; three great-grandchildren, Rose and Chloe Benson, and Blake Harlow.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Friday, October 8, 2010, at McDow Funeral Home.

A service will be conducted 11 a.m. Saturday, October 9, 2010, at McDow Funeral Home by Mack Blackwell. Interment will follow at Augusta Memorial Park with honors conducted by the United States Navy.

Memorial contributions may be made to the The Cedars, 1242 Cedars Court, Charlottesville, VA 22901.

Dear Chuckie and family...I am so sorry to hear about your dad Charlie... He was a great man.. He always treated me good when I was in the family.. Sorry I missed the funeral.. I just found out about it.. Take care..

Dear Larry, Kathy & all of the Stuples Family
