Clyde "Pete" Franklin Conner Sr. STUARTS DRAFT

Clyde "Pete" Franklin Conner Sr., 77, of Brighton Court, passed away Tuesday, September 21, 2010, at the University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville.

He was born March 30, 1933, in Rockbridge County, the son of the late Everett Curtis and Ethel Marie Caudle Conner.

He retired from Genicom of Waynesboro, was a member of Ridgeview Baptist Church in Stuarts Draft and a United States Naval veteran.

He was currently working part-time as a driver for the Valley Community Services Board, of which he enjoyed.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Richard Conner and Ray Conner.

Survivors include his wife, Gernie Conner; sons, Clyde Franklin Conner Jr. and his wife, Gina, of Stuarts Draft, and John Bruce and his wife, Lynne, of Fishersville; daughters, Cathy Lynn Conner of Stuarts Draft, and Brenda Elaine Burton and her husband, Richard Jr., of Stuarts Draft; brothers and sisters, Betty Allen, Curtis Conner, Maxine Kinder and her husband, Jack, Doris Fitzgerald and her husband, Charlie, Roy Conner, Ann Arbogast and her husband, David, Phyllis Moran, Steve Conner and his wife, Bea, Gene Conner and his wife, Grace, Kay Cook and her husband, Benny, Doug Conner and his wife, Jeri, and David Conner and his wife, Gail; three grandchildren, Christopher Wade Conner, Tara Shea Simmons, and Taylor Elisabeth Conner; two step-grandchildren, Shannon Elizabeth Simmons and Sara Dawn Burton; and seven step-great- grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, September 25, 2010, at Augusta Memorial Park by the Reverend B. Failes. Military rites will be provided by American Legion Post 340. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery by 10:45 a.m. on the day of the service.

The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 p.m. Friday, September 24, 2010, at the Stuarts Draft Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes.
