James William Reynolds died on August 2, 2018, at St. Mary's Medical Center, in Saginaw, MI, at the age of 81. He was born on July 18, 1937, in Champaign, IL, to E. Paul Reynolds and Ida E. (Langley) Reynolds.
Jim graduated from Champaign Senior High School in June, 1955, after which he entered the Air Force and found himself stationed at Wurtsmith Air Force Base in Oscoda, MI. There he met and soon married Ann McNichol, on March 2, 1957.
Especially in his later years, Jim loved telling stories of his adventures as an Aircraft Engineering Mechanic stationed in Alaska with his new wife. Upon his discharge from the Air Force in 1959, Jim began work as a cashier in Oscoda State Savings Bank, working his way up to President of the Bank in 1975. After moving to Huron Community Bank in 1980, Jim retired as a vice-president in 2000.
Through the years, Jim contributed to the Oscoda-AuSable community in many ways, including his active participation with the Oscoda Lions Club, AuSable Masonic Lodge, Community Concert, Kiwanis, Salvation Army, and Oscoda Baptist Church.
In 2007, after several years as a snowbird, Jim moved with Ann to Sun City West, AZ, where he could play golf year round. He loved to cook, play pool, sing in the choir, and tell stories.
Jim is survived by his wife, Ann; his children: Lynn (Alan Homans) of Huntington, VT, Cathy (Murray Zichlinsky) of Anaheim, CA, and Paul (Mari) of Huntington Beach, CA; his granddaughters: Emma Homans, Sophie Homans, Kara Reynolds, and Holly Reynolds; his brothers, Paul Eugene Reynolds of Plainfield, IL, and Ronald (Deborah Richie) Reynolds of Champaign, IL; and many nieces and nephews.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Ida; his sister, Phyllis Schnoebelen; and his sister-in-law, Betty (Eugene) Reynolds.
A memorial service for Jim will be held on Saturday, September 8th, at 1:00 P.M. at Oscoda Baptist Church, in Oscoda, MI.
