James Wilson Weihman, 84, of Surprise, passed away peacefully on August 29, 2018. Born in Streator, IL, he spent most of his life in Rockford, IL, moving to Arizona in 2004.
As a young man, he married his high school sweetheart, Vesta Jo Nelson, and joined the U.S. Marine Corps, the values of which became an integral part of his character throughout his life.
Jim was a respected member of the community, working in business management and later serving as a valued board member of his community at Happy Trails Resort.
Jim will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 63 years, Vesta J.; his daughters, Valerie Jo (Mike) Rock of Argyle, Wisconsin and Lise Marie (Philip) Lucero of Gilbert, Arizona; his brother, Robert (Ceil) of Fort Meyers, Florida; and many nieces and nephews and extended family.
Jim was predeceased by his beloved mother, Louise E. Weihman-Peterson; grandmother, Jessie Johnson; many loving aunts and uncles; and his father, George Weihman.
Memorial service will be held Wednesday, September 5th at 1:30 P.M. at Faith Presbyterian Church, 16000 N. Del Webb Blvd., Sun City, AZ.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 27th at 1:00 P.M. in the Town Center Ballroom at Happy Trails Resort, Surprise, AZ. Memories and condolences may be shared at www.yourvalley.net or www.legacy.com
