In loving memory of:
Joseph P. Rega
(09/29/45-08/13/18)
On Monday, August 13, 2018, Joseph P. Rega, resident of Sun City West, passed away at the age of 72.
Joe has been a devoted and loyal husband and by his wife, Karen's side, for the past 52 years. Joe and Karen were married May 7th, 1966 in Chicago, IL.
Joe leaves behind his daughter, Susan Ryan, her husband Michael and their two sons Noah and Jack; his daughter, Lisa Frankeberger, her husband Daren and their children Reed and Anna. Joe is also survived by his brother, Robert Rega; father-in-law, Arthur Hargray Jr. and brother-in-law, Kevin Natale.
Joe was originally from Chicago, where he grew up with his parents and 4 siblings Paul, Louis, Robert and Elizabeth.
He was a high school math teacher, counselor and principal. He moved to Arizona with Karen in 1994 and continued his career as a high school principal for many years.
Joe was a member of Shepherd of the Hills United Methodist Church where he served in the Stephen Ministry.
Joe will be forever remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather. His unique sense of humor and kind spirit will be greatly missed. In his free time Joe loved to cook, experiment with new recipes, but overall really enjoyed the experience of eating. Golfing and playing cards with his brother or Sun City friends were also favorite pastimes. Those who knew Joe will hold many dear memories of him as a kind, generous soul who was dedicated to his family.
Joe's wishes were that his family and friends remember him as he was in good health and that there be no memorial service. He is now resting in peace after an abundant life filled with love and joy.
"I know for certain that we never lose the people we love, even to death. Their love leaves an indelible imprint in our memories. We find comfort in knowing that our lives have been enriched by having shared their love."
