Arthur Abner Austin Jr.

Austin, Jr., 62 DOVER - Arthur Abner Austin, Jr. passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2012 following a lengthy illness, surrounded by his family and friends. He was born on Feb. 22, 1950 in Chester, Pa. to Arthur and Jeanette Austin. Arthur proudly served in the United States Navy, and later plied his skills as a mechanic. Arthur was a genuine prankster, and loved to trick and confound people. He also enjoyed quiet time with just a line in the water, waiting for a fish to bite. He was especially fond of the time he spent with his family, and was proud to be a husband and father. His family was everything to him. He will be deeply missed by those who knew him. Arthur is preceded in death, by his granddaughter, Christina Atkins. He is survived by his loving wife of 16 years, Eula Kate Austin, of Dover; his daughter, Bonnie Atkins, and her husband Eddie, of Milford; his son, Gregory Austin, Sr., and his wife Katherine of Dover; and his son, Daniel Lomax; as well as three children by marriage, Ken Bachman, Kelly Shaver, and John Bachman; also deeply missed by his grandchildren, Bryan Austin, and his wife Brittany, and their children Audrey, Autumn, and Troy Austin; and his grandsons, Michael Morris and Gregory Austin, Jr.; his granddaughters, Amanda Morris, Lauren Feathers, and Alana Atkins, and her children, Ja'Nella and Bianca Dupont. A viewing for Arthur will be held at the Pippin Funeral Home in Wyoming, Del. on Sunday, Nov. 18, 2012 at 6 p.m., with a service beginning at 7 p.m., cremation will follow. Burial will take place on Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2012 at 11 a.m. at the Delaware Verterans Cemetery, New Castle, DE. Letters of condolence may be sent to the family via www.pippinfuneralhome.com.
