James Edward Owens

Owens, 'Eddie', 66 CLAYTON - James Edward Owens, "Eddie" of Clayton, passed away on Friday, Sept. 20, 2013 at Kent General Hospital in Dover. He was 66. Mr. Owens was born September 21, 1946 in Salisbury, Md., the son of the late Charles and Helen Owens. He retired after many years from General Motors Boxwood Plant in Wilmington. Eddie would do anything for anyone and was known for always helping people. He enjoyed volunteering at the Mamie Warren Senior Center and working with his friend Tom. He was an avid NASCAR fan. More than any other enjoyment, his true love was being "Poppy" to his granddaughters. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Sonny; and his sister, Faye Elliott. He is survived by his loving wife, Nancy; a son, Eddie Owens and his wife, Cindy of Charleston, S.C.; his son through marriage, OR White, III and his wife, Annette of Berlin, Md.; his daughter through marriage, Vickie Costantini and her husband, Bob of Baltimore, Md; his four granddaughters, Ashley, Carrie, Mackenzie, and Katie; two sisters, Janet Petras and Edna Wise; and his brother, Bobby Owens. A viewing will be 10 a.m., Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2013 in the Faries Funeral Chapel, located at 29 S. Main St. in Smyrna, Del. Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Dale Cemetery in Whaleyville, Md. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Mamie A.
