DOVER - Walter Henry Ergenzinger, originally from Dover, later moved to Streetsboro, Ohio, passed away on Friday, Feb. 7th, 2014. Walter was born in Amityville, N.Y. on Nov. 16, 1945 to the late Walter Ergenzinger and Lillian Ergenzinger Weaver. He attended Dover High School, graduating in 1964. He served in the Army
Reserves. Walter and his older brother, Edward played on the 1st little league team (Del Vets) to win the championship in 1955. He was an avid fisherman, a fan of Nascar and enjoyed his pets, Angel, a cocker spaniel and his cat, Zipper. He worked for Stackhouse Masonry as a concrete finisher. He also worked for Tidewater Utilities retiring in 2013. He was preceded in death by his sister, Rita Hart and brother-in-law, John Carrow. He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Ginger; one daughter, Lesly Kababik (Sean) of Townsend; grandsons, Kie, and Kaleb, one son, Erin Ergenzinger of Texas; grandsons, Casey, and Keith; sisters, Cecelia Long (Ernest) of Wyoming, Marie Hagood of The Villages, Fla., Judy Carrow of Dover; and brothers, Frank Ergenzinger (Dottie) of Dover, Edward Ergenzinger (Lois) of Dover, and Carl Ergenzinger of Wyoming; a sister-in-law, Margaret; brothers-in-law, Mike and Andy of Ohio; two stepdaughters, one stepson, six additonal grandchildren and one step great-grandchild. He also leaves behind many of his extended family and friends to cherish his memories. Due to inclement weather, a special memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 1st, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Immaculate Conception Church, 522 Main St., Marydel, Md. Burial was in Streetsboro on Feb. 15th, 2014.
