Kevin McLain Obituary

SMYRNA - Kevin Neale McLain passed into eternity peacefully with his loving wife, Robin Jaquith McLain by his side. Kevin served as an ordained minister for the Church of the Nazarene in Connecticut and Upstate New York. He received his BA in Psychology from Eastern Nazarene University in Quincy, Mass., and was widely appreciated for his biblical teaching and preaching ministry. His singular desire was to point others toward the redemptive love and work of Jesus Christ. Kevin's children shared his thirst for knowledge and learning, and they took on his passion for science fiction and history. His earthly journey led him to experience the ravages of early onset dementia, but it never diminished the great love, respect and care of his family, close friends and caregivers. He was preceded in death by his mother, Gladys McLain; and his beloved aunt, Rosemary Lewis. In addition to his wife, Kevin is survived by his father, Rev. Neale O. McLain, of Manchester, Conn.; his brother, Martin McLain and his wife, Linda, also of Manchester, Conn.; his children, Lindsey Shaw McLain Lerro and her husband, Dan, of Smyrna, Stephanie McLain Commisso and her husband, Joseph, also of Smyrna, Ryan Parker McLain and his wife, Jamie, of Manchester, Conn., and Cameron Neale McLain, of Smyrna; four grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. A service of celebration and remembrance will be held on Saturday, Dec. 31, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Manchester Church of the Nazarene, located at 218 Main Street in Manchester, Conn. In lieu of flowers, please consider gifts to the Alzheimer's Association, for the support of research and awareness. Condolence letters may be sent by visiting www.fariesfuneralhome.com. .
