MILLINGTON, Md. - Eva Mae Wiest died Thursday, May 31, 2018 in Kent General Hospital in Dover.
Eva Mae Wiest was born May 24, 1924 in Massey, Md. the daughter of the late John N. Edwards and Eva O'Neil Edwards. Mrs. Wiest graduated from Galena High School in 1943. She married her late husband, Charles W. Wiest in 1944 and the two were married for 69 years. Mrs. Wiest worked on the farm for many years before going to work at Howard Johnson's Restaurant. She then went to work for Sudlersville Bank where she later retired working as a teller and in bookkeeping. She was a member of St. Clements Episcopal Church and the Women's Episcopal Church Group. She enjoyed going out to eat at different places, watching her hummingbirds, Sunday dinner with her sister and family and special niece, Susan Chance. In her younger days, she enjoyed playing cards and traveling all over with her best friends George and Maxine Dunning.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles W. Wiest; two sisters, Elizabeth Mazko, Virginia Hollett; and two brothers, Joseph Edwards and Jackie Edwards.
She is survived by two sons, Charles Eugene Wiest (Gloria) of Millington, Md., Gary E. Wiest (Cathy Kimbles) of Millington, Md.; two sisters, Carolyn Coleman of Massey, Md., Dorothy Chance (Bill)of Millington, Md.; one brother, James Edwards (Gloria) of Clayton; sister-in-law, Jean Edwards; three grandchildren, Rob Wiest (Darin Dell)of Dover, Tammy Black (Jimmy) of Tolchester, Md., Tyler Wiest (Lindsay) of Millington, Md.; and three great grandchildren, James Austin Black, Allison Michele Black and Ainsley Mae Wiest. Also, many special nieces and nephews.
Services will be held Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Fellows Family Funeral Home, 370 Cypress St., Millington, Md. Interment will follow in Crumpton Cemetery in Crumpton, Md.
