DOVER - Pastor Harold Wayne Ringler of Dover, went into the arms of Jesus on Thursday, April 3, 2014 surrounded by his family. He was 74. Mr. Ringler was born May 9, 1939 in Meyersdale, Pa., the son of the late Robert Ringler and Gladys Ringler Emerick. He proudly served his country with honor in the U.S. Army. Pastor Ringler served many years of ministry in Pennsylvania. He then retired from Schneider National as a Truck Driver. He volunteered his services with Habitat for Humanity in the ReStore. Harold served on many different church boards with the Church of The Brethren and attended Johns Hopkins Institute for the ministry of the sick. He loved his family and carpentry. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Ringler; his nephew, Brett Ringler; and a great grandson, Kalvin Ringler. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Peggy; his sister, Una Mae Custer (Dave); his sister-in-law, Malinda Ringler; four children, Ronald Ringler, Dawn Miller (Eugene), Wendy Ringler and Sue Brown; two special children who he loved as his own, Jason Thrush (Jenn) and Rob McCann; as well as 31 foster children; nine grandchildren, James (Joelaine), Andrew, Rebecca, Spencer, Thomas, Devin, McKenzie, Tanner and Johanna; and many extended family members. A viewing for family and friends will be 5 p.m., Tuesday, April 8, 2014 in the Faries Funeral Chapel, located at 29 S. Main St. in Smyrna. Services will begin at 6 pm. Burial will be held in the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery at a later date. Condolence letters may be sent by visiting
