CAMDEN - Jay A. Wyatt passed away Mar. 29, 2013 at Bayhealth-Kent General. He was the son of the late Frederick and Anna Louise Wyatt, Sr. Jay attended Lake Forest High School and was a member of their baseball team. He was extremely good at baseball and was even scouted by Philadelphia. An unfortunate accident playing ball broke his leg and he could not proceed with them. Jay was an owner, trainer, and driver of race horses for many years. He also had worked for the City of Dover, City of Wyoming, and Sipple's Used Cars. In his spare time, he enjoyed going fishing. He was part of a men's softball league for 25 years. He also enjoyed playing cards and shooting pool. He went to the U.S. Finals with the Silver Lake Tavern Pool league. Jay loved playing jokes on people and could always get something started. He loved to laugh and have a good time, and he will be greatly missed. Jay belonged to the Harrington American Legion CKRT#7 Sons of the American Legion, Camden Moose Lodge and the Harrington Moose Lodge. He is survived by his brothers, Frederick Wyatt Jr. and family of Harrington, Leroy Wyatt (JoAnn) of Hurlock, Md., Gary Wyatt and family of Greenwood, Jack Wyatt and family of Freehold, N.J., Ricky Wyatt and Rose of Pittsburgh, Pa.; aunt, Doris West; many cousins, nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Sat., Apr. 13, 2013 at Melvin Funeral Home, 15522 South DuPont Hwy., Harrington. Gathering of family and friends will start at 12 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to help defray funeral expenses, and be made to Melvin Funeral Home.
