Caldwell, 66 DOVER - John Lewis "JC" Caldwell passed away Sunday, Dec. 30, 2012 at Kent General Hospital. Mr. Caldwell was born Oct. 9, 1946 in Dover to the late Victor Caldwell and Elizabeth Hunter Caldwell. He worked in construction for Tilcon for 18 years then Teal for 12 years. Mr. Caldwell was a member of the Sons of American Legion, Walter L. Fox Post # 2 in Dover. He enjoyed country music, country dancing, going to Dover Downs, but most he loved spending time with his grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Tommy Caldwell; and sister, Betty Milton. He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Gertrude Jackson Caldwell of Dover; step-son, John Pearson and his wife Cindy, of Camden; step-daughters, Dawn Powell and her husband Fred, of Camden, Brenda Piccolo and her partner Dave Mosley, of Milford, Debera Smith of Dover; brothers, Vickie Caldwell of Dover, Freddie Caldwell of Camden, and Jimmie Caldwell of Fla.; sister, Sandy Caldwell of Fla.; niece, Marie Caldwell of Dover; three step-grandsons; four step-granddaughters; and one step-great-grandchild. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 4, 2013 at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road (Rt.10), Dover. Friends may call two hours prior.
