BRIDGEVILLE – Leon Ray Willey passed away Thursday, May 2, 2013 in his home surrounded by his loving family. Leon was born on Feb. 24, 1942 in Seaford, Del., son of the late Joseph and Mildred (Hastings) Willey. He worked for the E.I. DuPont De Nemours Company. Leon enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing and caring for his three dogs. He is preceded in death by three siblings Albert Willey, Doris Lane and Nelson Willey. Leon is survived by his loving wife of 51 years Elsie Willey; two sons, Patrick Willey of Bridgeville and Martin Willey and his wife Amy of Harrington; grandchildren, Melody Shorthall and her husband Joshua of Easton, Md., Brandy Willey of Easton, Md., Ethan Willey and Dalton Willey both of Harrington; a great-granddaughter Madalynn Shorthall, siblings Elmon Taylor of Georgetown, Constance Willey of Laurel, Byron Willey of Delmar, Thomas Willey of Delmar, John Willey of Seaford and Marie Travis of Delmar. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 11, 2013 at the Church of God of Prophecy, 22699 Bridgeville Hwy., Seaford, Del. Burial will be private in the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Millsboro, Del. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Church of God of Prophecy, 7055 W.
