Matthew Clark Obituary

GREENWOOD - Matthew Bryan Clark, 23, of Greenwood, passed away on April 29, 2011. Born in Las Vegas, Nev., he was the son of Horace Bryan Clark and Amanda M. Bennett. He was a member of Antioch A.M.E. Church in Frankford, and also attended Lifeway Church of God in Bridgeville. He was a delightful, playful and beloved young man to all his friends and a good hearted, personable young man who delighted in driving trucks, loved cars, driving and travel. He loved playing basketball in addition to being an avid fan. Church was a very big part of his life, and he liked to set goals, was very mature and deep thinking. He was devoted to his family, especially his sisters and loved the Lord, was outgoing and quick to pray for others. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his loving grandparents, and his step-father, Rodney Bennett and step-mother, Sharon Clark. He has two sisters, Malachijah Clark and Jordan Clark, several aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family and many friends. He also leaves behind his beloved canine friend, "Sparky." There will be two separate Celebrations of his life with his two church families, first at the Antioch A.M.E. Church, on Clayton Avenue in Frankford, on Thursday evening, May 5th, 2011, from 6 to 8 p.m., and the second on Friday, May 6, 2011, Lifeway Church of God, 7046 Seashore Hwy, Bridgeville, from 6 to 8 p.m. in the evening. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, family suggests contributions to a scholarship fund being set up in his memory care of Delaware Technical & Community College; "Scholarship in memory of Matthew" Commercial Transportation Department; Attn: Jason Bentley; P.O.
