DOVER - Nettie Jane McMahan has gone to be with our Lord after a lengthy illness. Her strong faith and will allowed her to remain with us through her pain and suffering until the Lord took her to be with him Dec. 23, 2013. She was 64. Born in Pulaski, Va. and raised by her deceased aunt in New Jersey. Jane worked at a bank, office manager at Norfolk Glass, co-managed a private business for government contracts and retired from Delaware State University, wrote and had her book published telling her life story. She was a breast cancer survivor. Nettie is preceded in death by parents, George and Rose Kidd of Pulaski, Va. She is survived by her husband, William McMahan; daughter, Christine Belisle; son, Tom Belisle; daughter-in-law, Melissa; three grandsons, Thomas, Troy, and Jeffery; stepdaughter, Faith Rentz; and granddaughter, Lauren; stepson, John McMahan; daughter-in-law, Wendy; granddaughters, Saige and Willow; brothers, Calvin Kidd of Calif., Jimmy and Donnie Kidd of Va.; and sister, Virginia of Va. Service will be 1:00 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 27, 2013 at the Wyoming United Methodist Church, 216 Wyoming Mill Rd., Dover, where visitation will begin at 11:30 a.m. Burial will follow in Sharon Hills Memorial Park. The family wishes to express their gratitude to Vitas Hospice nurses and staff for their excellent care for the past months. Donations may be made to Vitas Hospice or Wyoming United Methodist Church.
