Sr., 68 MILFORD - Ronald Wayne Hurd, Sr., of Milford, died Friday, Nov. 22, 2013 at home. He was born April 9, 1945, son of the late Major Hurd and Anna Ford Hurd. He worked for the State of Delaware DOT Material and Research for 40 years prior to retirement. He served in the Army Reserves, loved hunting, fishing and was an avid sports fan. His favorite teams were the Phillies and the Eagles. He was a member of the Avenue United Methodist Church in Milford. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Brenda M. (Potter) Hurd; two sons, and their wives, Ronald Wayne Hurd, Jr. and Amanda H., of Milford and MAJOR Robert Dean Hurd and Marissa, Fort Bragg, Fayetteville, N.C.; also five grandchildren, Ethan, Faith, Emma, Payton, and Riley; one brother and sister, Jonathan H. Hurd of Frederica and Dorothy Fry of Harrington. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2013 in the Chapel of Berry Short Funeral Home, 119 NW Front Street, Milford, DE., where friends may call from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. for a viewing. Interment will be Milford Community Cemetery, Milford, Delaware. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the Avenue United Methodist Church, 201 N Church Street Milford, Delaware 19963.
