SEAFORD - Sharon R. Cannon departed this life on Thursday, May 22, 2014 in Rochester General Hospital, Rochester, New York. She was born Sunday, April 5, 1959 in Nanticoke Memorial Hospital, Seaford, Delaware. She was educated in the Seaford School District. Sharon continued her education in Binghamton, New York at Broome Community College earning an Associates Degree as a Medical Assistant. She entered the U.S. Army in 1977 where basic training was in South Carolina. After service, she moved to New York and was employed by Community Action in Rochester, New York, working with autistic children and elderly persons, later mentoring and entered Management in various Human Services positions. Sharon, an only child, was caring, giving and friendly. She is survived by her mother, Shirley Kellam, one uncle, James Cannon, and a host of cousins and friends in the Seaford and New York areas. There will be a memorial service held on Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 26669 Patriots Way, Millsboro, Delaware at 10 a.m. Friends and Family are invited to attend where Bishop Carlton Cannon, Sr. will share words of comfort.
