CLAYTON - William "Bill" Joseph Goodman, Jr. passed away at Kent General Hospital on Saturday, Aug. 17, 2013. Mr. Goodman was born Oct. 22, 1938 in Wilmington, Del., the son of the late Dorothy Goodman. He served his country with honors in the U.S. Navy. Bill was a longtime member of Asbury United Methodist Church in Smyrna, a great duck hunter who also liked to fish. He was a member of Ducks Unlimited, the NRA, and the Clayton Fire Company. He retired from the computer industry and went on to own and operate The Corner Store in Clayton for many years. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his sister, Marlene. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Elizabeth; his daughter, Carolyn Ann Goodman; his son, Joey Lee Goodman and his wife, Danielle; and three grandchildren, Rosie, Joseph, and Cooper. A viewing for family and friends will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 22, 2013 in Asbury United Methodist Church, located at 20 W. Mt. Vernon St. in Smyrna, where funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. Burial will be held in Silverbrook Cemetery in Wilmington, DE.
