Apter, 39 DOVER - Michael Eugene Apter, of Dover, unexpectedly passed away, Friday, July 4, 2014 in Philadelphia, Pa. He was 39. Mike was born in Point Pleasant, N.J. on May 18, 1975 to his parents, David Edward Apter and Barbara Ann Dechert Apter. Mike has worked as a lineman for the Verizon Company for the past ten years. Before moving to Delaware from New Jersey he worked for CDW, formerly, Micro-warehouse. He enjoyed all types of fishing, and was an avid sports fan. Mike also coached baseball at Dover Little League. He was a Lacrosse coach for the Delaware Diamonds, and he coached football for the Dover CR Raiders. Mike is survived by his wife of 14 years, Carrie Ann Betterley Apter; his son, Michael Apter; his daughter, Lauren Elizabeth Apter; his parents, David E. and Barbara A. Apter of Toms River, N.J.; his sister, Christine McClure and her husband Matt of Inlet Beach, Fla. Also surviving are a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. A celebration of his life will be held 11 a.m., Friday, July 11, 2014 at the Torbert Funeral Chapel, South, 1145 E. Lebanon Rd. (Rt. 10), Dover, DE 19901.
