SMRYNA - John R. Zawaski Jr., of Smyrna, passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his family on Sunday, April 10, 2011. He was 37. Mr. Zawaski was born March 16, 1974, in Media, Pa., to John R. Zawaski Sr. of Townsend, and Millie S. Melchiorre of Galena, Md. He worked as an Electrician for many years with local companies. Johns loves and joys were giving a helping hand to those who needed it, fishing and crabbing with his father, following NASCAR, especially Jeff Gordon, and watching Raiders and Eagles football. He loved being with family, playing video games with the kids, watching Jeff Dunham on TV, cooking in the kitchen for everyone who came over, listening to music with his two girls, being outside to work in the yard and cooking on the grill. Most of all, he loved just being with his two girls and his loving wife, Lisa. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife whom was his high school sweetheart, and had been with since 1991 and married in 2001, Lisa M. Zawaski; his two daughters, Alyssa Margaret Zawaski and Samantha Rose Zawaski; his stepmother, Helen Zawaski of Townsend; his stepfather, Bob Melchiorre of Galena; two sisters, Jessica Souza and her husband Brian of Townsend, and Brianna Zawaski of Wilmington; and a stepbrother, Rob Melchiorre of Bloomington, Ill. John also leaves behind his father and mother-in-law, Wayne and Margaret Foraker of Clayton; sister-in-law, Sherry Mace and her husband Ben of Smyrna; brother-in-law, Wayne A. Foraker Jr. and his wife Angela of Clayton; along with three nieces and six nephews, Lilianna Souza, Savina Souza, Zanna Souza, Wayne A. Foraker, III, Gary W. Foraker, Michael A. Foraker, Samuel W. Mace, Robert M. Mace, and Everett A. Mace. A visitation will be 11 a.m., Friday, April 15, 2011, in the Faries Funeral Chapel located at 29 South Main Street, Smyrna. Funeral services will begin at noon. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Smyrna. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made for John's daughter's Educational Fund, care of The First National Bank of Wyoming, 28 Deak Drive, Smyrna, DE 19977.
