Branham, 82 CENTREVILLE Md. - Edna Pauline Branham (Polly), of 417 Roe Ingleside Rd, Centreville, Md., died on April 23, 2013 at Easton Hospital, Easton, Md. She was a 2 time survivor of breast cancer and fought a lengthy 3rd battle with the disease. The daughter of John Wells Poe and Bessie Blanche Tedder, Polly was born on Jan. 28, 1931 in Crumpler, W.V. and was raised in the Valley of Long Branch, in Lansing, N.C. In 1951, she moved to Delaware and then to Centreville in 1980, where she spent the rest of her years. Polly was a Mother and homemaker. She raised her children, stepchildren and helped in raising her grandchildren, all with love. She also managed a restaurant and was a licensed ordained minister in the 1960's. Her interests included literature, gardening and collecting antique chickens. Polly and her sister, Clara Simmons, mined gemstones in the mountains of North Carolina in the 1990's. She is survived by her husband, Daniel B. Branham; and her sons, Stephen Vanover, Michael Vanover; and step-children, Ray and wife Donna, Danny and wife Debbie, and Vera Jane Peterson and husband Ron; her sister, Clara Simmons, who was her constant caregiver; her brother, Dale Poe and wife Georgia, all of New Castle, Del.; grandchildren, Matt, Kaylee, Samantha Jo, Danielle, Daniel Ray, Joseph and Kristen Starkey (Branham); great-grand children; also survived by, Debbie Moye and many other nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Howard Wayne Vanover; and step-daughter, Nancy Lee Branham. Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. on May 4, 2013 at the Lighthouse Christian Center, 662 Milford/Harrington hwy, Milford, DE.
