OKEECHOBEE - Emory L. Walker, went to be with his Lord on Nov. 3, 2012. Born March 30, 1936 in Okeechobee to his late parents Hulon and Inez Walker, Mr. Walker was a lifetime resident of Okeechobee where he raised his family with his wife of 54 years, Onnie Jean. He was the founder and owner of Emory Walker Company since 1966 which he operated with his sons. He was also the owner of W&W Supply Company of Florida and a proud veteran having served his country in the Army. Mr. Walker was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Okeechobee. He was a friend to many and will be missed. Mr. Walker is survived by his beloved wife Onnie Jean; a daughter, Linda Lee Wright (Neal); two sons, Steve Walker (Michele), Scott Walker (Janet) all of Okeechobee; six grandchildren, Cory Wright, Alyssa Wright, Matt Walker (Hannah), Katie Jean Walker, Kyle Walker, and Amber Walker; a sister, Martha Domer. Mr. Walker is predeceased by his son, Steven Emory Walker; his parents; and two brothers, Enoch Walker, and Edwin Walker. The family will receive friends on Nov. 7, 2012, from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church, 401 SW 4th St., Okeechobee. A service will begin at 11a.m. with Reverend Randy Huckabee officiating and the burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Okeechobee. Memorials may be made to S.J.
