LABELLE - Fidel Sanchez, Sr., returned to his heavenly home on Feb. 3, 2018 after a valiant battle with a long illness. His devotion to his family and his firm belief in God supported him in his struggle and ultimately gave him peace.
Fidel was born to Gurmersindo and Ramona Sanchez, in Córdoba, Veracruz on July 9, 1968. He was immersed in the Christian community that would be his lifelong support from an early age. He was Baptized at the First Baptist Church of LaBelle at the age of 19 and stood with his church as they established a Spanish Mission.
Fidel was blessed with a large and loving family. Fidel raised his three children with patience, discipline and humility. From the very beginning, he dedicated his children to God and encouraged them to explore the beauty of the gospels. He was kind and soft-spoken, and always had time to answer a question or solve a problem, no matter how small. He is dearly missed by his loved ones, who celebrate the fact that he is at peace with his creator.
Fidel is survived by his wife, Maria Sanchez; his sons, Christopher and Fidel; his daughter Consuelo; his grandchildren, Briella and Titus; his father and mother, Gurmersindo and Romona; his brothers Esteban and Gumersindo; his sister, Laura. He was preceded in death by his brother, Miguel Ángel.
