WEST PALM BEACH - Mr. Freddie Lee Whitaker slipped into a peaceful rest on Aug. 12, 2018 at Good Samaritan Hospital in West Palm Beach. He was the oldest son of the late Otis and Daisey Bell Whitaker. Mr. Whitaker was born on April 9, 1946 in Sumter County, Fla. He received all of his formal education in the Douglas Brown School System.
In his early years he joined Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Reverend J.L. Smith. He served as a member for many years until he moved to West Palm Beach and was affiliated with the Pentecostal Church under the leadership of Reverend Hightower until his health failed him.
He enjoyed fishing and hunting, that was his main hobby.
Mr. Whitaker was preceded in death by his parents, Otis and Daisey Bell Whitaker.
Mr. Whitaker leaves to cherish his memories seven siblings, Dorothy Moore, of West Palm Beach, Ilene Welch, of West Palm Beach, Sylvester (Joyce) Whitaker, of Okeechobee, Elvin Whitaker, of West Palm Beach, Elbert Whitaker, of Atlanta, Ga., Mary (Ossie) Washington, of Okeechobee and Douglas (Natasha) Whitaker, of West Palm Beach; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and sorrowing friends.
Visitation will be 11 a.m. until services at 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 18, 2018 at First Missionary Baptist Church.
