OKEECHOBEE - Kenneth Eugene Marion, age 64, of Okeechobee, passed away May 8, 2011, at his home. He was born Jan. 2, 1947, in Cullman, Ala., to Grady Cecil and Stella Mae Marion. He came to Okeechobee from Cullman in 1950 and was a retired manager for Larson Dairy. Mr. Marion proudly served our country in the U.S. Marines during the Vietnam War. He was a big supporter of the O.C.R.A. sports program and an avid poker player. Mr. Marion was preceded in death by his wife, Alice Sue Marion. He is survived by his daughters, Wendy L. Morgan (Bradley) of Okeechobee, and Karen Lasitter of Greenville, Ala.; son, Maynard Lasitter (Karen) of Orlando; 11 grandchildren; six great grandchildren; two sisters, Helen Robbins (Harold) of Okeechobee, and Charlene Wright of Cullman, Ala.; two brothers, Randy Marion of Indiana, and Rick Marion of Cullman, Ala.; several nieces and nephews; and great-nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, May 14, 2011, at Evergreen Cemetery with Brother Joe Bishop officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to O.C.R.A. in Kenneth Eugene Marion's name.
