Okeechobee - Paul Elmer "Tommy" Haynes died March 28, 2018. He was born July 15, 1943 in Newport News, Va. He proudly served our country in the United States Navy. A resident of Okeechobee since 1981, he was a member of the VFW, American Legion, Moose, and Eagles. He was a competitive Billards player and loved building and driving race cars. A hardworking man, he enjoyed being around his family, friends, and pets.
Mr. Haynes is survived by his wife, Charlene Haynes; children, Jean Haynes Hartley, Paula Haynes, Lynn Emis, and Dennis Stanley; five grandchildren; four great grandchildren, brother, Jimmy Haynes, and sisters, Sylvia Yorder, Cynthia Tabares, and Sonja Crowley.
Visitation will be 1 p.m. until services at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 4, 2018 at Buxton & Bass Okeechobee Funeral Home.
