Ricki Linda Brown Blackwell passed away peacefully at her home early Monday morning, Oct. 29, 2018, with two of her daughters, Marcy Jo and Kelly, by her side.
Ricki was married for 58 years to Edward Charles Blackwell, who predeceased her on Jan. 29, 2018. They met at the old Sundance Ranch near SR441 and Southern Blvd. in West Palm Beach where Eddie was a ranch hand and Ricki boarded her horse. From first sight, at that ranch, she knew she had "Found her Cowboy."
Our Mama (Grandma) was a remarkable and avid horsewoman who loved riding her mule, Belle, each year through the oak and pine tree trails and streams and participated in the annual cracker cattle drive which she loved. She was an old-style Draftswoman where she made a career in her remarkable penmanship. Mama was the backbone of this Blackwell family with her care and loving support, strong woman, independence, open-minded and witty logic in life but still very conservative.
The family members who are predeceased and ready to celebrate her life with her in heaven is her father, Ricky H. Brown; mother, Marcelle "Pete" Brown; and her husband, Edward C. Blackwell.
Living Family members cherishing her memory is her three daughters, Bonnie Lee Blackwell Granato, Marcy Jo Blackwell Debrowski, Kelly Ann Blackwell Hyland; six grandchildren, Michelle, Danelle, Francis (Frankie), Jimmy, Becky, Sierra; and eight great-grandchildren, Hailey, Adriana, Harlynn, Evelina, Riah, Joshua, Aubrey, and Marcella (Marlee).
In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations to be made to the Hospice of Okeechobee. The family will have a personal life celebration at a later date.
