ASHBURN - Mr. Robert "Bruce" Bennett, Sr. of Ashburn died Thursday April 26, 2018 at Tift Regional Medical Center.
The graveside service was 11 a.m. on Monday April 30, 2018 at the Ephesus Church Cemetery. Elder Paul Thomas officiated.
Mr. Bennett was born on August 3, 1932 in Okeechobee, Fla. to the late Noah Franklin and Edith Raulerson Bennett. He had lived in Worth County since 1985 and attended Ephesus Church faithfully. Bruce was one of the last of his kind,he was a true cowboy, working with horses and driving cattle. He always worked hard to provide for his family. Later in life he enjoyed working in his garden and making cane syrup for everyone to enjoy.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 66 years, Ora Lee Bennett of Ashburn; sons, Robert Bennett, Jr. (Brenda) of Poulan, John Bennett (Sandie) of Ocilla; daughters, Diane Capezza of Chula, Fern Ambrosino of Chula; grandchildren, Walker Bennett, Aaron Bennett (Miranda), Tyler Bennett(Julie), Josh Bennett, Jake Bennett (Courtney), Emily Spratt (Revin), Ryan Ambroisno, Phoebe Ambrosino, and Brittany Ambrosino; 13 great grandchildren; brother, James L. Bennett of Sylacauga, Ala.
In addition to his parents Mr. Bennett was preceded in death by a son, Joel C. Bennett; siblings, Mary, Shelly, Theresa, Johnny and Franklin.
