Moore Haven - Russell Knox Ford died Aug. 22, 2018. He was born May 26, 1937 in Mount Sterling, Ky. to the late William and Dolly Mae (Kingsolver) Ford. He proudly served our country in the United States Army. He earned a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University and worked for the Harris Corporation for 32 years, retiring as a Program Manager.
A resident of Moore Haven for 20 years, having come from Melbourne, he was an avid fisherman. He was a member of Lakeport Christian Church.
Mr. Ford was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Velma Ford; daughter, Cindy Mills (Bill), of Tallahassee; brother, Jeff Ford (Debbie), of Zephyrhills; sisters, Betty Manniett (Raymond), of Illinois, Marian Ford, of Cocoa Beach, Emily Walker (David), of Tampa, and Lloyd Thompson (J.C.), of Georgia; granddaughter, Savannah Mills; aunt, Ann Ford, of Tampa; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 8, 2018 at Lakeport Christian Church with Pastor Frank Moore officiating.
