Okeechobee - Troy Thomas Tuten died Sept. 25, 2018. He was born July 4, 1943 in Waycross, Ga.
He proudly served our country in the United States Army. A resident of Okeechobee since 1969, he was well known for his business ventures in town including the Archery Sports Shop, the Country Cooler, Rootin Tootin's, and Troy Built Cabinets. He was a member of the VFW, Moose Lodge, and Eagles.
Mr. Tuten is survived by his wife, Susan; sons, Jason Tuten (Suzanne), of Colorado, and Lance Tuten (Angela), of Okeechobee; daughter, Nicole McCurdy (Michael), of Georgia; thirteen grandchildren; and one great grandchild.
Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 5, 2018 at Buxton & Bass Okeechobee Funeral Home. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 6, 2018 at Buxton & Bass Okeechobee Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
