Okeechobee – Virginia Rhoden went to sleep on Sept. 6, 2018, and is waiting on Jesus return. She was born Nov. 16, 1938 in Iowa City, Iowa to Floyd and Dorothy (Hickman) Davis. Virginia loved spending time with her family, shopping at Ross, and having dinner at Cracker Barrel with loved ones. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, fishing, and caring for her cows, chickens, and her beloved dogs. She was generous, kind hearted, and loved to laugh and experience all that life had to offer.
Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, James Rhoden.
She is survived by daughter, Nancy Meeks (John), of Iowa; her sons, William Rhoden (Connie), of Okeechobee, Dennis Rhoden (Richard), of Sanford, and Jack Rhoden (Mary), of Sanford; stepsons, James Rhoden, Jr. of Palmetto, and Leonard Albritton, of Palmetto; ten grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; brothers, Kenneth Davis, of Texas, and Jack Davis (Candy), of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Friday, Sept. 14, 2018 at Buxton & Bass Okeechobee Funeral Home. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 15, 2018 at Braden River Cemetery, 5835 E 53rd AVE, Bradenton, Florida, with Elder Buddy Hancock of Seventh Day Adventist Church officiating.
