W. Bernard Russe, passed away April 4, 2018 in Pipe Creek, Texas. He was born May 11, 1930 in Clendenin, W.Va., to the late Frank and Myrtle (Pauley) Russe. He was one of 14 children.
He served in the Army during the Korean War on the front line. He was a resident of Labelle for 30 years. He was a successful business man as a grove owner, subdivider and along with his wife Georgia owned and operated the Shady Oaks Restaurant.
He is survived by his sons, Terry (Lorrie) Russe, Jerry (Jane) Russe; daughters, Debbie (Mac) Gonzalez, Susan (James) English; grandchildren, Amber, Ryan, Erin, Megan; great grandson, Jamison; sister, Lorena (Kelly) Castleberry; brother-in-law and best friend, Bernard Rasmussen (Jean); and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Georgia (Hammons) Russe; son, Kyle Russe; and grandson, Joey Russe.
He was very loved and will be missed by all.
A memorial service with Military honors will be held Saturday, June 23, 2018 at 10 a.m. at Fort Denaud Cemetery, LaBelle.
