OKEECHOBEE - Robert "Bob" Gailfoil died August 12, 2014. He was born Sept. 9, 1941 in Concord, Massachusetts. Mr. Gailfoil proudly served our country in the Marine Corps for ten years rising to the rank of Staff Sergeant. He survived being shot down three times during the Vietnam War. He was a longtime employee with Pratt & Whitney, Palm Beach Sheriff's Department and Big Pine Key Road Prison. He came to Okeechobee from Big Pine Key in 2003. Mr. Gailfoil was preceded in death by his son, Christopher Gailfoil. He is survived by his wife of eleven years, Frances Gailfoil of Okeechobee; three sons, Michael Gailfoil (Deana) of Panama City Beach, Wil Pinto (Sheila) and John Pinto (Sanibus) all of West Palm Beach; two daughters, Robin Wilkerson and Carolyn Gailfoil both of Gainesville; three stepchildren, Marjorie Gadue (Marc), Steven Biafore (Anne) all of Colchester, Vermont and Michael Biafore (Laura) of Easton, Connecticut; eleven grandchildren; brother, John Joseph Gailfoil, Jr.; and many loving nieces and nephews. A gathering will be held 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, August 15, 2014 at Buxton & Bass Okeechobee Funeral Home.
