William Trice Obituary

CAMBRIDGE - William R. Trice, 85, of Cambridge, passed away on Monday, April 2, 2012, at Chesapeake Woods Center. He was born in Federalsburg on Nov. 24, 1926, and was a son of the late Eugene C. and Lula Bradley Trice. He attended and graduated from Cambridge High School. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. On May 5, 1951, he married the former Marie Lauck. He worked for Bell Atlantic and retired 1989 with 38 years of service. He was a member of the American Legion Post 91, the First Baptist Church in Cambridge and St. Luke's Church in Secretary. He is survived by his wife, Marie J. Trice of Cambridge; a daughter, Bonnie Griffith and husband Ed of Cambridge; a sister, Gladys Woolford of Cambridge; and a niece, Diane Wise and husband Bill of Cambridge. Besides his parents, Mr. Trice was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Lisa Phillips; two sisters, Alice Trice and Betty Hogeboom; and three brothers, Kelso Trice, Eugene Trice and Herbert Trice. Pallbearers will be Andy Engle, Kevin Asplen, Bill Wise, Wayne Potter, George Burton, Nick Kowitski and Bobby Tyler. A funeral service will be 11 a.m., today, April 6, 2012, at the First Baptist Church, Cambridge, with Pastor Steve Trice and Rev. Bob King officiating. Interment will follow at East New Market Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Luke's Church, P.O. Box 94, Secretary, MD 21664. Arrangements are in the care of the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge.
