CRISFIELD - Eugene Timothy "Timmy" Sterling died Friday, May 23, 2014 at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury. Born in Crisfield April 8, 1954, he was a son of the late Eugene O. Timmy became disabled at the age of 16 following a diving accident but did not let that stop him from living his life independently. He was a history buff and an avid stamp collector and also enjoyed working on his computer and listening to Dr. Charles Stanley's devotionals. Timmy was affiliated with the Crisfield First Baptist Church and Marion Baptist Church and supported Paralyzed Veterans of America. He is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Pamela and Jim Laverty of Cambridge; his nephew, Jamie Laverty of East New Market; his cousins, Greg Sterling and wife Kathy, Clint Sterling and wife Cindy and their children Caroline, Cole, and Cate, Judy Smith, and Lula Mae Dize, all of Crisfield, and Ruby Bounds of Salisbury. He is also survived by his special neighbors, Charles "Buffy" and Carolyn Landon; and his caregivers, Kay Dize, Annette Morgan, Bonnie Smith, and Brenda Evans, all of Crisfield. Funeral services officiated by Rev. Joe Barnes were held on Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home in Crisfield where a viewing will be one hour prior. Interment will follow in Sunnyridge Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory are requested to be sent to First Baptist Church, 1 S.
