EASTON - Dorothy F. Ewing, of Easton, went to be with her Lord on Wednesday June 25, 2014. Born in New Sewickley Township, PA, February 11, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Rev. Theodore and Henrietta Gengnagel Fischer. At the age of 10 she moved to Dorchester County where she graduated from Cambridge High School in 1939 and the Cambridge Hospital School of Nursing in 1943. She worked on and off at the Memorial Hospital at Easton doing private and general duty until 1977. She was also the bookkeeper for Ewing's Auto Supply and Paul T. Ewing Inc. for many years. She was the faithful wife of Paul T. Ewing, Sr. for 42 years. She was a member of Talbot Bible Church in Easton and a resident of the Dixon House since 2006. Her children would like to express their gratitude to the faithful friends and relatives who visited regularly and to the wonderful staff that gave her such good care. Her interests in reading, jigsaw puzzles, and pets gave her much enjoyment. She loved the Lawrence Welk Show and her favorite stars were Guy Hovis and Ralna English. She was a devoted mother to her children. Surviving are a son, Paul T. Ewing, Jr. and his wife Ruth and their daughter Pam Andrews (Charlie) of Easton; daughters, Joan Hurley and husband Willey of Preston, Patricia Rizia Bilbrough and husband Lewis Sr. and their children Alex and Erin Rizia of Snow Hill, Dorothy Walker and husband Mike and their daughters Sarah Watkins all of Easton, and Lauren Walker of Newcomb, Carol Prettyman and her husband Keith and their children Ashley Stoker (Todd), Anna Fenzel (Christopher) and Brian Prettyman, all of Easton. She so enjoyed her several great grandchildren as well.. She has one surviving sister in law, Gloria Fischer; and several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her husband Paul T. Ewing, Sr.; twin sons (in utero); grandson Tyler Ewing; brothers Ted, Henry, and Fritz Fischer; and sister Margaret Barnes Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at 11 am at Talbot Bible Church, 9114 Chapel Road Easton, MD 21601. Friends may call on Tuesday, July 1, 2014 from 6pm-8pm at Fellows, Helfenbein & Newnam Funeral Home, P.A., 200 S. Harrison St., Easton and also one hour prior to the service at Talbot Bible Church.
