SECRETARY - Ralph S. Hurst passed away Mar. 28, 2013 at University of Maryland Medical Center. He was born Aug. 4, 1939 in Cambridge, son of the late Earl L. Hurst, Sr. and Ruth Jackson Hurst. On Jan. 25, 1964 he married Mary Sue Luch. Ralph worked at Airpax Electronics for several years, leaving in 1972 when the company began downsizing. He then went to work at the Housing Authority of Cambridge and retired from there in 2004 after 30 years of employment. He loved boating, fishing, crabbing and spent many family vacations camping at Crisfield, Chincoteague and Assateague, Va. Ralph also loved every minute he spent with his grandsons, Kyle and Dylan Young. His furry Siamese "friends", Rosie and Lucy, will miss him. Ralph found his way to Alcoholics Anonymous in 1978 and maintained sobriety the rest of his life. His good friends, Charlie and Eddie Powell and their association with what was then known as "Warwick" were instrumental in Ralph achieving his goal and for that his family will be forever grateful. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Charles Hurst and Earl Hurst, Jr. In addition to his wife of 49 years and grandsons, Kyle and Dylan, he is survived by a daughter, Lisa Mowatt of Lusby, Md.; great granddaughter, Lily Young of St. Leonard, Md., Robert L. Stimis of Hurlock who was more like a brother than a cousin; and several nieces and cousins. Ralph's wish to be cremated was honored and the family plans to have a memorial service at a later time.
