Barbara Culmo

CULMO, BARBARA Barbara Culmo, age 80, wife of Michael F. Culmo and resident of Southbury, entered into eternal rest in Danbury on October 29. She was born July 27, 1932 in Ansonia, daughter of the late Frederick & Ethel Romberg Gittings. She graduated from the Southern CT State Teachers College and worked as a school teacher for The Ansonia Board Of Education until retirement. Barbara was active in the Head Start program in Ansonia and as a Kindergarten teacher at Chatfield School in Seymour. She was a member of The Christ Episcopal Church in Ansonia & the St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Woodbury. In addition to her husband Michael, she leaves to cherish her memory three sons, Stephen Culmo of Seymour, James Culmo of Blue Point, Long Island & Michael "Peter" Culmo of Hebron, CT as well as eight grandchildren, four great grandchildren & several nieces & nephews. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Nov. 3 at 10:00 a.m. from The Christ Episcopal Church of Ansonia. Burial will follow in Mountain Meadows Cemetery in Seymour. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to The Christ Episcopal Church in Ansonia or the St. Paul's Episcopal Church of Woodbury through the funeral home.
