Edward M. Piccirillo

Piccirillo, Edward M., Sr. Edward M. Piccirillo, Sr., age 61, of Derby, entered into rest on Wednesday, December 12, 2012, at his home. Ed was born in Bridgeport on June 11, 1951, son of the late Biagio and Peggy Ann (Gardner) Piccirillo, and was a lifelong resident of the valley. He served his country with the US Marine Corps, and worked fire security for General Electric for over 35 years before retiring in 2009. Ed was a member of the Stratford VFW, and enjoyed coaching in Derby Little League. He was also a supporter of Pop Warner and coached Biddy basketball. He enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson, but his greatest times were spent with his grandchildren. He is the beloved father of Edward "Pokie" Piccirillo and his wife Mary of Shelton, Robert Piccirillo of Derby, and Wendy Gilbert and her husband Raymond of West Haven, and Jeremy Skiff and his wife Lani of Virginia. He leaves his cherished grandchildren, Samantha, Tifani, Jasmine, Skyler, Ryan, Raymond, Ella, Maksymilian, Logan, and Ian, two sisters, Ann Zaboide and her husband Daniel, and Charlotte Bacvinskas and her husband Bill, several nieces and nephews, his former wife, Brenda Piccirillo, and his best friend Molley. He was predeceased by his brothers Jim, Rich, and Cliff, and sisters Jane and Nancy. Friends may greet the family at the Edward F. Adzima Funeral Home, 253 Elizabeth Street, Derby, on Monday from 4 to 7. A funeral service will begin in the funeral home on Monday at 7 PM with Rev. Adam Eckhart officiating.
